Board Members

Ilene S. Kessler has been a licensed REALTOR® for over 25 years and is part of a dedicated three-person team with RE/MAX Advantage Realty in Columbia and is a member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame. She is Past President of the Maryland Association of REALTORS®, and Past President of the Howard County Association of REALTORS®. Ms. Kessler, who was named 2001 Maryland REALTOR® of the Year, was a member of the Governor's Housing Commission in 2004 and has been a volunteer for housing-related and other non-profit charitable efforts for 30 years. She has a B.A. from the University of Maryland and an M.A. from the College of New Jersey. 

Steve M. Fox has been a licensed REALTOR® for 16 years. Past President of the Frederick County Association of REALTORS® (FCAR), Mr. Fox serves on FCAR's Revolving Loan Fund Committee and has served on the National Association of REALTORS®’ Housing Needs Committee. He is a President Elect for Frederick County Habitat for Humanity and Chair of the Frederick County Affordable Housing Committee. Mr. Fox is broker owner of Fox Realty, Inc. / GMAC Real Estate.



William J. Armstrong, licensed for more than 20 years, is a REALTOR®, Vice President and Associate Broker with Mackintosh Realtors in Frederick.  Past President of the Maryland Association of REALTORS® and the Frederick County Association of REALTORS®, Mr. Armstrong serves as the 2011 Treasurer of the National Association of REALTORS® and on the advisory board at Johns Hopkins University for its Masters Program in Real Estate. He is a member of the Rotary Club of Frederick and has served on their board of directors.




Brian Donnellan is the SVP for Business Operations and CFO for Metropolitan Regional Information Systems in Rockville, MD.  He sits on the real estate industry boards of Clarity Security, LLC and RBI, Inc (Real Estate business Intelligence subsidiary of MRIS).  Brian leads the financial, sales, marketing, customer support and technology organizations at MRIS.  Before MRIS he was the COO/CFO of a Teaching Strategies, a software development company that provided early childhood education software.


Robert A. Goldberg is President/CEO for the REALTORS® Information Network (RIN), a for-profit wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), the nation's largest professional trade organization. Additionally, Mr. Goldberg serves as the Senior VP for Marketing, Business Development, Commercial and Business Specialties for NAR. Prior to joining RIN and NAR, he was Senior VP with PRC Realty Systems, a provider of MLS Systems. Mr. Goldberg holds a BA degree from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, and serves on the following Boards: RealSelect Inc., (operators of REALTOR.COM), SentriLock LLC, ePropertyData, RIN and The Center for Specialized REALTOR® Education.


Iona C. Harrison is an associate broker with Pioneer Realty, Inc. in Upper Marlboro. She is past president of the Prince George’s County Association of REALTORS® and their REALTOR® of the Year in 2003.   She is Past President of the Maryland Association of REALTORS® and has served as Chairman of the National Association of REALTORS® Housing Needs and Conventional Lending Committees.


Francis B. Lane is a Director and Client Advisor in the Philadelphia office of Deutsche Bank/Alex Brown, specializing in long-term investment plans. Mr. Lane serves as Investment Chair for the Chestnut Hill Community Fund in Philadelphia Pa. He is also a board member of Foulkeways at Gwynedd Retirement Community. He has been honored as a member of the American Funds All-America team since 1988. Mr. Lane holds a B.A. degree from Franklin and Marshall College and is a graduate of the Wharton School Securities Industry Institute.

Dale L. Ross is a licensed real estate broker for more than 30 years, and is licensed in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. Past President of both the Maryland Association of REALTORS® and the Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS®, Mr. Ross founded MRIS, a statewide multiple listing and technology system, in 1994 and served as its chief executive officer. Mr. Ross served on the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) board of directors for 15 years. In 2001, he received the Maryland Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2009, Mr. Ross was selected by NAR to become the CEO of Realtors Property Resource LLC, a new venture to create and operate the largest property centric data base in the country for the NAR members.


Ray Spradling joined Harkins Builders in 1995 and is has worked as a project manager for them since 1999,  specializing in new as well as rehab of multi-family and mixed use construction projects.  Ray is a former REALTOR® who holds the Green Advantage Commercial Environmental Certification and spends his time helping Howard Community College get their Construction Management Program up and running.  Ray also actively supports the Associated Builders and Contractors organization and recently completed his own makeover for a USO facility in Indian Head, Md.


Patricia Terrill is a licensed REALTOR® with Prudential Carruthers REALTORS®. She has been a member of the Coastal Association of REALTORS® since 1991 and served as President in 2006. She is a graduate of the 2004 MAR Leadership Academy and the 2008 NAR Leadership Academy and has served on many local, state and national level committees. She currently serves as the 2011 President-Elect of the Maryland Association of REALTORS®.


Cathy Werner has been a licensed REALTOR® since 1984 and is the broker/owner of RE/MAX American Dream serving metropolitan Baltimore and Harford County. She is a Past President of the Greater Baltimore Board of REALTORS® (GBBR). Currently, she is the 2011 President of the Maryland Association of REALTORS®.
